About me

Hi, I'm Iker

and I help leaders grow and become wiser, more effective and purposeful.

In a career spanning two decades, I have accompanied hundreds of leaders and managers as an HR business partner, talent director and executive coach. I have lived and worked in the UK, France, Singapore and Spain, and I speak five languages, so I have a global mindset and understand cultural differences well.

I am a humanist. Even before I decided to study humanities at university a lifetime ago, I had always had a keen interest in history, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, and all the disciplines that try to better understand what it means to be human. This is an approach I still cherish, and I give a humanist touch to everything I do, from my coaching to my writing.

Apart from being a humanist coach, I have a pluralistic approach to coaching. I adopt different psychological approaches to coaching based on the needs of my clients: from ontological, Gestalt or existential coaching for deeper and transformational needs to solution-focused coaching for more specific performance enhancement and problem-solving coaching. All the coaching approaches I use, both one-to-one and team coaching, are evidence-based. I am a humanist, but also a pragmatist, and I believe in science and hard evidence.

I accompany leaders and high potentials to become better leaders while pursuing their purpose and having a positive impact on others and society. I want to help them become purposeful and wise leaders.

My values guide me in everything I do:

Wisdom

it goes beyond making the right choices in difficult situations, it’s also about empathy, emotional regulation, being comfortable with ambiguity and seeking the greater good.

Freedom

It is essential for me to be free and independent to make my own choices. I want everybody else to feel free, too.

Authenticity

I won’t pretend to be someone I am not, and I want to live my life according to my values and who I really am. I don’t want to live surrounded by inauthentic people, either.

personal growth

I love learning and growing and helping others grow. That’s what makes us human, after all.

Flexibility

I don’t like rigid systems and ways of thinking. I believe in having an open mind and being flexible and pragmatic. My pluralism in coaching approaches comes from this belief.

Enjoying life

We are here for a short period of time, so we may as well enjoy it! Being able to enjoy life, each of us in our own particular way, is one of the most important things in life.
